Save the date for Moshito 2009!Preparations for the annual Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition are underway, with this year's event once again providing the only place for the music industry to network, debate, learn, exchange, showcase, experience and much more.
Once again, Museum Africa in Johannesburg’s Newtown Precinct is the venue hosting the event, which runs from 2 to 5 September 2009. A full line-up of exciting international, national and African speakers is being worked on and the programme will address the most pressing issues facing the South African and global music industry.
SAMRO’s incoming General Manager: Corporate Affairs André le Roux is the new chairperson of the Moshito Board. He says that this year’s music market will expand its focus on live music showcases, with a view to tapping into the African Francophone market in particular.
Promoters, festival organisers and buyers from the continent and around the world are expected to converge on Moshito. “This will provide an ideal platform for musicians to come along, armed with piles of CDs and business cards, and talk business. We need to get artists to get serious about how to ‘work it, baby, work it’,” says Le Roux.
“Moshito is the only dedicated music trade event on the African continent, and our artists should not miss out on this golden opportunity to market themselves.”
