CD SAMPLER FOR WOMEX 2010

SAMEX calls for South African world music tracks

 

SAMEX is inviting all stakeholders to submit South African music for inclusion on the SAMEX 2010 World Music CD compilation.  Both complete albums and/or individual tracks may be submitted. World Music is the focus of this selection, so only quality tracks with South African identity and international appeal will be considered.  The compilation will be produced by world music expert, Nicky B, who will select and compile 25 - 30 tracks to feature on a double CD.

 

In association with the Department of Trade and Industry, SAMEX is working towards  hosting the South African Music Pavilion at WOMEX 2010, the world´s premier networking point exclusively dedicated to world, roots, folk, ethnic, traditional, local and Diaspora music of all kinds.  This platform provides a unique opportunity to distribute and/or promote your track to a captive audience.

 

To qualify for selection, the following is required for each track submitted:

­       Copy of CD/track

­       Completed Release Form – attached

­       Biography of artist

­       Contact Details

­       Submission before 6 August 2010

South African Music Exports (SAMEX)

represents key players in the music industry from the recording industry, music publishers, musicians union, music managers, musicians and music promoters. This not-for-profit organisations’ main purpose is to promote South Music internationally both in terms of live and the recorded music industry.
