DJ Black Coffee throws his weight behind people with disabilities

DJ and producer extraordinaire Nkosinathi Maphumulo also known as Black Coffee  announced recently the launch of The DJ Black Coffee Foundation as part of enduring quest to uplift and assist people with disabilities in South Africa.

As part of his endeavour to be an inspiration to that community, he himself has opened up to the public about his own disability, following an accident when he was 14 years old which left his one hand disabled.

The multi award winner’s vision is to use the respectable brand that he has built in recent years to raise funds for the disabled and continue to assist them in achieving a better quality of life by affording them wheel chairs, education facilities, musical instruments and inspiring in them a dream that he has realised despite his disabilities.

To show his dedication to ensuring a better life for people with disabilities, Maphumulo has pledged the proceeds from his new solo project- Home brewed which features one of his mentors, Hugh Masekela, as well as The Soul Brothers' keyboard player Black Moses, Zonke, and Ringo Madlingozi- to The. DJ Black Coffee Foundation.

Maphumalo said,“The foundation has just started and we are in desperate need of sponsors and anything that you have whether it’s money or just services that you can provide, it’ll be highly appreciated.”

If there is anyone who wishes to make a donation, please do not hesitate to contact Amara on 011 477 9685 or 082 633 6392.
