Register now for Moshito 2010’s regional workshops to stand a chance of a conference subsidy
As part of Moshito and its partners’ commitment to development, this year will again see the running of several FREE Moshito Regional Music Business Workshops.
Three workshops will be run with the support of the Gauteng Provincial government in Ekurhuleni, Sedibeng and the West Rand over the next week. Moshito Regional Music Business Workshops have a chance of securing one of 30 subsidised delegate places and one of six subsidised Expo stands at the upcoming 2010 Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition.
Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Ms Nelisiwe Moerane, says developing music industry SME’s operating in Gauteng was an important priority for her department. “Through the workshops conducted in the various Gauteng regions as part of the build up to the conference we hope its (Moshito) legacy will be more consolidated”, she says.
The FREE Moshito Regional Music Business Workshops are a continuation of an initiative that began in 2008 in partnership with the Gauteng Provincial Government and now forms an integral part of the Moshito process.
Facilitated by industry experts, the workshops and seminars are offered FREE of charge but due to space limitations, participants are urged to register without delay. The Moshito Regional Music Business Workshops and Seminars are designed to equip newcomers with clear insights into the business side of the music industry that will enable them to take their careers and infant businesses forward.
The Moshito Regional Music Business Workshops and Seminars will act as an activation platform for the Moshito Conference and Exhibition 2010 that will be hosted at Museum Africa in Newtown from 1-3 September.
Representatives from Moshito will give an overview of what can be expected from the conference itself while stakeholders from the various music organisations on Moshito’s board will deliver presentations highlighting their mandates.
Attendees at the regional workshops will also have the chance to apply for 30 main conference subsidies, which are offered to SME companies. To qualify for these, SMEs must submit a letter of motivation and show that they are registered entities, are based in Gauteng Province and are active in the music industry. Preference will be given to HDI, Gender and Disability candidates. There are also six Expo subsidies available to Gauteng-based SMEs whose representatives attend the workshops.
