Researcher – New Business Development

The purpose of this role is to generate leads and identify new business opportunities for the licensing team. Researching to examine the market for unlicensed sectors/businesses that will be used to develop calling lists/leads for the licensing team’s revenue generation. The ideal candidate will have successfully completed a post-matric qualification in Business Administration and have at least one year’s working experience in a sales environment.

The above vacancy exists within the Licensing department and reports to the New Business Manager.

The purpose of the role is to generate leads and search for new business opportunities for the licensing team. Conducting research to examine the market for unlicensed sectors/business that will be used to develop calling lists/leads for the licensing team’s revenue-generation. 

The ideal candidate will have successfully completed a post-matric qualification in Business Administration and has at least one year’s working experience in a sales environment.

Key Performance areas

  • Market research to identify opportunities for  new business
  • Segmentation of identified opportunities
  • Generating licensing leads
  • Development of calling lists
  • Assessing current customer database for reassessment opportunities
  • Analysis of inspections list for new business opportunities
  • Monitoring and analyzing the execution of call  plans

Minimum requirements:

  • Post matric qualification in Business Administration
  • Market Research experience
  • At least 1 year experience in a sales environment
  • Knowledge  and experience of sales techniques (influencing, negotiating and prospecting)
  • Collective Management Organisation related experience would be beneficial
  • Business development techniques experience
  • Advanced computer skills, including Word & Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Sound understanding of pricing/discounting concepts will be an advantage
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of numeracy
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is an essential requirement
