The Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO), in partnership with the Soul Candi Institute of Music (SCIM), is proud to announce the return of its Music Business Training Programme, calling on all SAMRO Full and Associate Members to apply. The initiative forms part of SAMRO’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Programme, which continues to invest in the professional growth and empowerment of music creators across South Africa.

Through this partnership, 70 bursaries will be awarded to eligible SAMRO members to participate in an 8-week accredited online course designed to equip them with the essential skills to navigate the commercial side of the music industry. Participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to engage with industry stakeholders while developing sustainable strategies to grow and remain competitive in the evolving music ecosystem.

The Soul Candi Institute of Music will deliver a comprehensive online curriculum tailored exclusively for SAMRO members. The course combines academic insight with practical application — empowering participants with vital business and production skills relevant to the modern music industry. The flexible learning approach allows members to study at their own pace while accessing expert-led sessions, mentorship opportunities, and a collaborative online learning environment.

This latest intake marks the continuation of a successful partnership between SAMRO and the Soul Candi Institute. Since its inception in 2021, over 170 SAMRO members have already benefited from this impactful training programme. SAMRO continues to encourage greater participation by women in the creative sector through initiatives like this, in line with its commitment to addressing gender disparities within the industry.

To ensure meaningful engagement between learners and instructors, the Music Business Training Programme will accommodate 70 qualifying members. The course is scheduled to begin on Monday, 26 January 2026, and will run for eight (8) weeks, concluding on Monday, 16 March 2026.

Applicants must hold a minimum qualification of NQF Level 6 or equivalent to be considered. The programme is fully online, allowing members to participate from anywhere in the country — a key advantage for composers, authors, and creators whose work often involves travel and collaboration across borders.

SAMRO members are encouraged to check their emails for application details. All completed application forms must be submitted to SAMRO by 12 December 2025.

This initiative underscores SAMRO’s commitment to supporting the professional and creative growth of its members, ensuring that they remain competitive, knowledgeable, and empowered in an ever-evolving music landscape.
